How ChartForce works

What the product does with a prompt, what a credit buys, and where to find each feature and policy.

Making a chart

  1. Ask for it in words. Describe the chart you want — the subject, the places, the years. If the request is ambiguous in a way that would change the answer, you get one question back rather than a guess.
  2. The data is fetched and cited. Sources are chosen for the question, and every chart carries the citations for what it drew. Values traced from an image are marked as estimated on the chart itself.
  3. You edit it. Type, colors, titles, axes, ordering, annotations — all of it in the editor, none of it costing another credit.
  4. You export it. PNG and SVG are images; a race chart can be exported as MP4. Sizes come from presets, from a link card to a 9:16 story.

Looks and themes

The editor's Theme tab restyles a chart with a house look or with a theme of your own. Themes are made on the Themes page, from a screenshot or a description.

Publishing and sharing

Publish, in the editor, shares a chart with the people you invite by email, and only they can open it. Paid plans can also embed a chart on the websites you list; it shows nowhere else.

Animated charts

Bar race and line race charts play over time. Set one up and play it from the editor's Motion tab; exporting it as MP4 costs 2 credits, once per chart.

Credits

Credits are the unit of everything. Generating a chart costs 1 credit whatever type it turns out to be, and a prompt that produces nothing is not charged. Exporting a chart as video costs 2 credits, once for that chart however many times you re-export it. Editing, animating, and PNG and SVG exports are free.

Free accounts get 5 credits a month. Credits reset at the start of each billing period and unused ones do not roll over — except credits you have bought or been given, which are kept and spent only once the month's allowance is gone.

Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly by card through Stripe. Upgrading takes effect the moment checkout completes; changing or canceling a plan happens in Manage subscription, and a canceled plan keeps running until the end of the period you have already paid for. Your invoices, receipts and card live on the Billing page.

Policies

The documents governing your use of ChartForce, in full. Also collected at the legal index.

Getting help

When you are signed in, use Report a bug, the round button in the bottom-right corner — it records the page you are on, so start there.

Something wrong with a chart, a charge, or your account — support@chartforce.ai. Include the chart's link if it is about a specific one; the editor shows its id in the status bar, which is the first thing we will ask for.
