Legal
Acceptable Use Policy
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everything you submit to ChartForce and everything you do with what comes out.
1Do not infringe other people's rights
Upload only material you have the right to upload. In practice, the uploads that go wrong are images:
- Photographs. Press and agency photographs of politicians, athletes and executives are licensed works. Finding one in a search engine is not a license to use it. Upload images you took, own, licensed, or that are published under a license that permits your use.
- Photographs of identifiable people. Beyond copyright, a person has rights in their own likeness. Do not upload an image of someone who has not agreed to appear in what you are making, and never one of a child.
- Logos and trademarks. Using a company's logo to label its bar on a chart may be fine as nominative reference, or may not be. That judgment is yours to make.
- Charts from publications. Uploading a chart to trace its data extracts the underlying figures. Facts are generally not copyrightable, but the chart as a work is. Do not reproduce someone else's chart and present it as your own.
If you believe something on ChartForce infringes your copyright, the Copyright and DMCA Policy explains how to have it removed.
3Do not use invitations to send unsolicited email
Publishing a chart lets you invite people to view it by email. Invite people who expect to hear from you. Invitations are rate limited, every one carries a link to stop further invitations, and every published chart carries a link to report it.
4Do not use ChartForce to deceive
Do not use ChartForce to produce a chart you know misrepresents its underlying data, and do not strip out or falsify the provenance information attached to an export in order to present a figure as sourced when it is not.
This is about deliberate deception, not editorial judgment. Choosing a truncated axis, a particular date range, or a chart type someone else would not have chosen is not a breach of this policy.
Removing or obscuring the ChartForce watermark on a free-plan export is a breach.
5Do not attack or overload the service
- No probing, scanning or testing the security of the service without written permission — see Security for how to report a vulnerability properly.
- No circumventing credit limits, rate limits, plan entitlements or the watermark.
- No automated access outside a documented API, no scraping the site, and no reselling access to your account.
- No uploading malware, and no using ChartForce to distribute it.
- No using ChartForce to build a competing service, including by using its output as training data.
6Do not break the law with it
Do not use ChartForce for anything unlawful, or to harass, defame, threaten or discriminate against anyone. Do not use it in breach of sanctions or export-control rules.
7Enforcement
If we believe content or conduct breaches this policy, we may remove the content, suspend the account, or terminate it. We aim to warn first and act proportionately, and we will act immediately without warning where the breach is serious, unlawful, or creating risk for other people.
If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice we send you. We will look again, and we will restore content we removed in error.
Report a breach of this policy to legal@chartforce.ai. Copyright complaints go to dmca@chartforce.ai and follow the Copyright and DMCA Policy.
